Tech Data Names Youna New European President

Youna previously was senior vice president of southern Europe, overseeing the Clearwater, Fla.-based distributor's operations in Benelux, France, Iberia, Israel and Italy. He replaces Graeme Watt, who resigned as president of European operations last October.

Youna joined Tech Data in 1989 as managing director of France. "Gerard's extensive experience and history of strong leadership within our European operations made him an ideal choice for the position," Nestor Cano, president of worldwide operations at Tech Data, said in a statement. "He has contributed greatly to recent improvements in our European business model while continually strengthening customer and vendor relationships."

"I look forward to the opportunity to build upon our top position in the European market," Youna said in a statement.
