Lenovo Gives Interim North America Channel Chief The Job

Frey had held the interim position at the computer maker following the departure of ex-Lenovo channel chief Stephen DiFranco for Hewlett-Packard and more recently, the move by Stephen Mungall, formerly a Lenovo vice president of channel sales, to Trend Micro.

Frey reports to Jay Parker, vice president and general manager of Lenovo’s Transactional Business unit, according to Morrisville, N.C.-based Lenovo. Under Frey’s leadership, the channel team has increased the percentage of Lenovo’s revenue that is generated through channel partners.

Also on Thursday, Lenovo made another executive move within its North America organization. David Schmoock has been appointed senior vice president and general manager of North America and in that position will oversee Parker’s Transactional Business unit as well as the company’s Relationship Business, led vice president and general manager Tom Looney.

Scmoock remains senior vice president of operations for Lenovo’s Mature Markets Group and will be moving from his current home in Paris to work at the Morrisville campus.
