Ingram Micro Loses Another Key Exec

Grothjan was responsible for all product management functions, including asset management, vendor relationships and business development. She was named to the position in August 2002 and worked at Ingram Micro for about 15 years.

Ingram Micro will not hire a direct replacement, according to a spokeswoman. Her duties will be split between Paul Bay, who was promoted to vice president of vendor business management, Jim Harr and Geno Marcoux. Harr is responsible for purchasing functions, and Marcoux will continue to run the U.S. components business unit. They will report to Keith Bradley, interim president of North America.

Grothjan helped reduce Ingram Micro's inventory during a product management reorganization in 2001 and implement several Six Sigma projects, the company said.

She is the third senior-level executive to leave Ingram Micro since March. Mike Grainger, then-president and COO, left in March, and Pat Collins resigned in June as senior group vice president of sales and marketing.

Kevin Murai and Greg Spierkel have replaced Grainger as president. The distributor hired Pat Capparelli, formerly an executive at Purloator Courier, as senior vice president of U.S. sales.
