Curt Ohrt
Last month, Oracle hired Curt Ohrt as senior vice president of health care platforms, according to his LinkedIn.
In this role, he is responsible for “building, owning, and operating the healthcare platforms that enable us to make the world healthier while also reducing healthcare costs per capita,” according to his LinkedIn.
In June, Oracle completed its acquisition of health care information system provider Cerner.
Ohrt came to the Austin, Texas-based database and technology giant after more than 18 years with Amazon, according to his LinkedIn. He left the company with the title of vice president of software development for Amazon Web Services’ data center software.
In this role, he led “the AWS Supply Chain, Directed Work, Hardware Monitoring and Vetting, and Datacenter Systems organizations comprised of about 1,500 folks,” according to his LinkedIn.
Among his accomplishments at AWS, Ohrt “enabled AWS Service owners to run at a higher utilization, saving over $200MM/year” and “improved ‘Deliver to Promise’ success rate from < 30% to > 75% while maintaining SLAs and lowering carrying costs,” according to his LinkedIn.
