Paris-based consulting and IT solution provider Capgemini Group is on a buying spree.
On Wednesday, the company announced that it had acquired Adaptive Lab, a London-based digital design studio that helps businesses adjust to new technology as well as shifts in customer behavior. The terms of the purchased were not disclosed, and Capgemini did not respond to requests for comment.
’Adaptive Lab’s digital first, experience design led approach enables organizations to redefine their businesses and embrace disruptive technologies quickly for competitive advantage,’ Cyril Garcia, head of digital services and member of the group executive committee at Capgemini said in a statement. ’Adaptive Lab’s track record of working with marquee clients on high stakes projects is impressive and totally complementary to our digital services portfolio.’
Founded in 2009, Adaptive Lab said it identifies business opportunities for its clients by creating a plan based on customer data, testing and evolving that plan, and then scaling it for a competitive edge. The company’s employs 50 designers, developers, and strategists. Adaptive Lab has been focused in financial services and telecommunications. Top clients include Santander, Standard Life, and Vodafone.
The company recently worked with mobile phone provider Three – which operates in Hong Kong, Macau, Austria, Denmark, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Sweden and the United Kingdom -- to launch ’Smarty," which refunds customers for unused data at the end of every month; with Vodafone, Adaptive Lab developed an app for ’V-Auto by Vodafone," an innovative consumer product that helps car owners become safer, better drivers, track their vehicle location and alert authorities in the event of a serious accident.
’Since we founded Adaptive Lab over ($100 billion in) tech startups have been created in industries ranging from financial services to retail,’ James Haycock, Managing Director and Founder, Adaptive Lab said in a statement. ’To compete in these fast-moving markets, companies need to completely rethink how they approach growth. Our vision is to bring design, business and technology skills together in small, collaborative teams to help our clients do just that.’
Adpative Lab is the latest of several recent acquisitions for Capgemini, which is No. 6 on the 2018 CRN Solution Provider 500.
Earlier this month, it announced plans to buy, Leidos Cyber -- the security division of the Fortune 500 defense contractor Leidos Holdings. In February, they said they planned to buy LiquidHub, a provider of digital transformation services, in a move to expand both its own digital transformation capabilities and its reach into the U.S. market.
In September 2017, Capgemini announced plans to acquire Chicago-based Lyons Consulting Group to meet the digital customer experience needs of its global customers. That followed Capgemini's March 2017 acquisition of European Salesforce Commerce Cloud dynamo Itelios, as well as its January 2016 purchase of European Salesforce specialist Oinio.
