Firefox Nears Final With Feature-Complete Preview

Dubbed the "Firefox Preview Release," this version includes tools not seen in earlier betas, including a RSS reader that displays headlines in the bookmarks menu, an updated Find feature, and a plug-in installer.

Like all versions of Firefox, this one is free to download from the Mozilla site.

Also on Tuesday, the foundation said it had made the first payments in its bug bounty program which it launched last month. Four researchers have each received $500 for spotting critical vulnerabilities in various Mozilla programs, including the also-updated Thunderbird, the group's stand-alone e-mail client.

One of the researchers declined to accept the payment, and instead donated it back to the foundation for future bounty checks.
