Crotty New Head Of VTN, Stegner Goes Global

Stegner, vice president of channel development, will now work with regions outside North America to help "share best practices on building and maintaining customer communities and replicating the success the company has achieved in North America," according to a statement from the company.

Justin Crotty has been promoted to vice president of channel marketing, North America, and now is responsible for VentureTech in the U.S. and Canada, as well as Ingram Micro's other solution provider organizations.

Also, Brian Wiser has been promoted to senior vice president of U.S. marketing and Kirk Robinson has been named customer and solutions marketing vice president for Ingram Micro U.S. Stegner, Crotty and Robinson all will report to Wiser. "Our customer communities are second to none and we've never been more serious about turning up the volume to make both VTN and [Ingram Micro Service Network] renowned in North America and exploring how we can build our channel presence around the globe," Wiser said in a statement. "By leveraging Bob Stegner's expertise globally and tapping the leadership of Justin Crotty and Kirk Robinson in the United States, as well as Murray Wright and Dave Walsh in Canada, we will bring our customers and manufacturer partners a whole new level of value and results."

The moves caught at least one VentureTech Network member by surprise.

"I can't beleive it," said Bruce Geier, president and CEO of Technology Integration Group, a San Diego, Calif. solution provider. Geier said that Stegner has done a good job building the Venture Tech brand and he regretted that he was "shuttled out" to the global role. "Why couldn't he run domestic and international?" he said.
