Franey Out at ViewSonic

No explanation was given why the executive, who assumed his current position last June as part of corporate-wide restructuring, left the company. He had been working to help expand its product line and shore up ties to the channel.

The role of running day to day operations for the company now falls to Matthew Milne, Senior Vice President of Business Development and Strategy. James Chu remains Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

Franey's departure comes just one month after ViewSonic named Dorothy Farris as Senior Vice President of Sales for ViewSonic Americas. A former Compaq manager, she came to the company from Wyse Technology.

Company channel advocate Jeff Volpe, Vice President of Marketing, said ViewSonic will continue with many of the plans and policies put in place by Franey.

"We will stay as engaged with the channel going forward and look to continue to build the kind of solid relationships with partners that ViewSonic has long enjoyed," said Volpe.
