DXC Technology said Wednesday that it acquired a small Austin, Texas-based design studio and consultancy called argodesign to add to its services portfolio and accelerate digital transformations.
“We believe that the combination of DXC’s focus on deep client relationships globally and argodesign’s creativity in the UX space will offer a highly differentiated value proposition and user experience in digital transformation for our clients,” Ed Ho, executive vice president and general manager of offerings at DXC Technology, said in a statement. “And we share in the commitment for argodesign to grow into a globally recognized design powerhouse with access to top-tier clients and new business opportunities.”
The company, which has fewer than 50 employees, boasts a team of designers and technologists focused on interface design and user experience—key elements in delivering digital transformation solutions at scale, DXC said in the statement. While financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, Tysons Corner, Va.-based IT services firm DXC said that argodesign will continue to serve its clients worldwide as a growth partner to entrepreneurs and an incubator of new products.
According to the press release, the company’s specific disciplines include product strategy, design research, information architecture, software experience design, hardware industrial design and brand identity.
Founded in 2014 by Mark Gauger and Mark Rolston, argodesign aims to create products that “hide their technological prowess, evoke delight, and demonstrate simplicity and value,” the statement reads. The argo team is said to inject fresh thinking into their process and lend expertise in the core competencies of product design and user experience.
“Technology is changing everything around us, and great design is needed now more than ever,” Rolston said in a statement. “Working closely with a technology leader like DXC and their incredible roster of clients is a perfect opportunity to expand the reach and impact of beautiful, meaningful product design."
Last week, DXC Technology deepened its Salesforce capabilities with the acquisition of an Australian Platinum Salesforce partner.
System Partners, which has offices in Sydney, Melbourne and New Zealand, builds on DXC’s digital transformation strategy and cloud-first focus, the company said at the time.
DXC said the expanded reach of the two companies will allow for cross-sell opportunities across the customer bases of both System Partners and DXC, arising from complementary portfolios and expanded service catalogs.
Financial terms of that deal were also not disclosed.
Founded in 2008, System Partners has more than 100 Australia-based Salesforce certified experts, which will also offer DXC a fuller portfolio across the market-leading SaaS platform.
