Private cloud service provider Cloud at Work has been designated by application developer Sage as a “Strategic Hosting Provider,” certified to help other solution providers and their customers in their cloud migration efforts.

Cloud at Work, itself a long-time Sage channel partner, said the certification validates the New York service provider’s ability to help Sage customers quickly and smoothly move their Sage applications to a private cloud.

The Strategic Hosting Provider designation reaffirms Cloud at Work’s expertise in Sage applications and cloud technology, the service provider said, as well as Sage’s trust in the company to support Sage partners and their customers as they migrate from on-premises systems to the cloud.

“We are delighted to have been selected to join the Sage Partner Cloud program as a Strategic Hosting Provider to help Sage Business Partners meet the growing demand for a fast and safe migration to a reliable hosting environment,” said Tyler Bower, Cloud at Work’s director of cloud and hosting services, in a statement announcing the certification.

Using the Cloud at Work platform, Sage customers in the U.S. who are running Sage ERP applications on premises – including Sage 100, Sage 300 and Sage X3 – can move those application instances to the Cloud at Work platform.

The Sage certifications highlight Cloud at Work’s ability to provide hosting services through other Sage channel partners to support their customers, in addition to working with its own customers.

Running hosted Sage applications on the Cloud at Work platform provides an option for businesses and organizations who aren’t ready – or don’t want – to move to a cloud ERP system. It allows customers to realize the performance, efficiencies and financial benefits of SaaS with a minimum of disruption, according to Cloud at Work.

In addition to extending the life of Sage applications, hosting Sage software on the Cloud at Work platform preserves investments businesses have made in custom development or add-ons to the applications and in integrations with third-party applications, Bower said in a related blog post.

Customers also get the benefits of Sage support combined with Cloud at Work’s SaaS expertise, Bower said. “It’s a partnership that offers a winning combination of increased performance and industry leading solutions that allows Sage customers to unleash the power of their business.”

“Recent global events have accelerated the need for anytime, anywhere access to business-critical information,” said Aziz Benmalek, executive vice president of Sage’s Global Partner Organization, in a statement. “This is accelerating migration to the cloud, as customers look for freedom and flexibility to customize their requirements and future-proof their business processes.

“Cloud at Work joins us as a strategic cloud hosting partner based on their impressive track record of supporting customers on their journey to the cloud, while enabling them to continue using the trusted Sage products that already work for their business, without disruption,” Benmalek said.

Cloud at Work has doubled-down on the Sage software market this year. In May the company launched a $1.5 million partner development fund that Sage customers who use Cloud at Work to host their applications can spend exclusively with their Sage business partner of record. The fund is designed to support Sage’s cloud initiative and provide customers with an incentive to migrate their Sage applications to Cloud at Work hosting.

In June Cloud at Work was chosen by Sage business partners e2b Teknologies of Chardon, Ohio, and Oasis Solutions of Louisville, Ky., to be the exclusive hosting provider for their Sage clients. In July ACI Consulting of Anaheim Hills, Calif., likewise designated Cloud at Work to be its exclusive Sage hosting partner.
