Lenovo Targets HP, Dell In Competition For No. 1 Hardware Spot

Lenovo has set its sights on hardware leaders and plans to overtake the No. 1 spot, according to brand ambassador Stephen Miller, who called the brand’s hardware ’the world’s most reliable.’

Miller cited figures from the 2015-2016 Information Technology Intelligence Consulting report, which put Lenovo ahead of HP, Dell and Cisco in terms of reliability. According to the report, Lenovo hardware is 10 times more reliable than HP’s hardware, six times more reliable than Dell’s hardware and twice as reliable as Cisco’s hardware.

However, the company still lags in third place as a hardware vendor, despite ranking first in PCs.

’We’re the No. 1 PC vendor on the planet. That simply means we sell more notebooks and desktops any given quarter than anybody else for three years in a row,’ Miller said.

Miller cited IBM’s servers as the only competition for more reliable servers than those from Lenovo.

’There’s an IBM mainframe that happens to never be down. It’s always up, 100 percent of the time. We are 1 percent behind it,’ he said.

Miller said Lenovo’s plan to launch into the No. 1 hardware spot involves beating the competition with price and partnership.

’Our services business is our partners. That’s why we’re going to lead.’
