The diversity of the workforce in IT has become an important, hot-button issue recently, and that’s for good reason. There’s no question that a varied workforce makes for a more innovative, collaborative and interesting industry. But what do women in particular bring to the channel?

Symantec's May Mitchell said women inject creativity into the industry.

’I do think women bring a different type of approach. It’s the logic behind it, how they communicate with others, how they encourage and inspire others to join, and in also forming those really good partnerships,’ Mitchell said.

The skills women contribute to the channel, said BMC Software's Pam Johansen, include ’multitasking, of all things, flexibility, and the ability to change on a dime.’

’We’re excellent collaborators,’ said Ingram Micro’s Jennifer Anaya.

’The way our industry is changing right now, it is becoming very collaborative in terms of solution delivery,’ she added.
