The Tech Trends Shaking Up Manufacturing And Engineering

3-D printing is booming. The latest research, according to SmarTech, shows the market is expected to grow by 150 percent over the next four years. That’s creating a number of new opportunities in manufacturing and engineering, and the developers willing to make the jump are seeing the benefits.

’A lot of companies will sit back and wait and see, and the partners we’re working with who are making bold steps and trying new things, like additive manufacturing or where software and hardware meet, are the ones that are actually getting attention and gaining market share,’ said Ron Fritz, CEO of Tech Soft 3D. ’The biggest risk is sitting on the sideline and waiting too long.’

Tech Soft 3D is a leading provider of development toolkits to the engineering and software industry. Recently, the company hosted its 2018 Boston Hoops Summit, showcasing how the latest technologies are being used in manufacturing and engineering. Assemble Systems, Solidworks and DP Technology were among the companies in attendance.

’There’s a big platform shift from desktop to mobile, as well as to the cloud,’ said Fritz, commenting on the industry’s biggest trends. ’There’s also things that generally are outside engineering that are making their way in.’
