Intel Partner Connection: A Personal Journey to Success with Intel

A young business found success through a strategic partnership with a large vendor. Now it is being recognized for expanding its products into verticals beyond what was expected.

You know the right strategic vendor can help grow your business, but one young OEM says his success hinged on finding the right partner. Luckily, he made the right choice.

“The support, at this level, from such a large company is super important, because we aren’t a large company ourselves,” says Nino Vanich, CEO of EWC Technologies.

The company started in a basement in 2015. Vanich and a small group of co-workers from a start-up decided they wanted to make a change after fielding comments from customers about the dated technology they were selling.

“Our clients were emailing us and were calling us and letting us know that they were deciding to go elsewhere,” explains Maurice De Vera, co-owner and head of business development for EWC Technologies. “After we left that company, we decided that we wanted to be elsewhere, and that’s how EWC came about. EWC is ElseWhere Computing Technologies.”

EWC’s differentiator is a customizable Intel NUC solution integrated with Power Over Ethernet functionality—designed for entertainment, video and digital signage verticals and beyond. The team says without Intel, it couldn’t have built its business around a unique, made-to-order solution that sells. “Being able to leverage Intel for that support is huge. It makes us look like a larger company. It makes us bring products to the market faster,” says Vanich.

“They’re always several years ahead of the game and offer us endless opportunities to succeed,” chief visionary officer for EWC Technologies, Zachary Hazen, says of Intel.

EWC’s latest opportunity is becoming an Intel Partner of The Year Award finalist for its Intel NUC innovation.

Andrew Flores, sales executive for EWC Technologies, says this recognition from Intel can propel his business to the next level of success, “The fact that we were an award finalist gives us a lot of validation for those customers who maybe heard of EWC but haven’t worked with EWC yet.”

The EWC team says bringing its products to market with the Intel name immediately strengthens the level of trust this small business has with its clients.
