AWS Security Director Leaves For Stripe

‘The opportunity to create a level playing field for everyone to participate in the AI economy, alongside the kind individuals known as Stripes, drew me to this role,’ said Jenny Brinkley on LinkedIn.

Amazon Web Services’ longtime security leader and director Jenny Brinkley has left the cloud giant to join Stripe as its new head of strategy and operations.

Brinkley was previously director of security readiness for AWS, managing application security across AWS, while also overseeing supply chain inspection, AI for enterprise, and security education training.

She first joined AWS in 2016, working her way up the ranks until becoming director of AWS security in 2021.

Brinkley jumped to AWS parent company Amazon in 2022 to become director of Amazon security before rejoining AWS in her current role in 2024.

“Joining [AWS] almost 10 years ago, I initially thought I would be there for maybe two years, but it turned out to be a wild ride,” said Brinkley recently on LinkedIn.
