Salesforce Scoops Up Model Metrics In Cloud, Mobile, Social Services Push

Snagging Chicago-based Model Metrics gives Salesforce a mobile and social cloud consulting services division, which Model Metrics has cultivated since it launched in 2003. At Dreamforce 2011, Salesforce unveiled its vision of the social enterprise, through which companies leverage cloud, social and mobile technologies to foster agility. Salesforce executives said the addition of Model Metrics will sharpen that vision.

"The addition of Model Metrics' mobile and social expertise will accelerate's ability to lead the shift to the social enterprise and empower partners to develop their social enterprise practice."

Bringing aboard Model Metrics will give Salesforce the ability to offer new services around cloud, mobile and social, and continue to hone its partner community around that trio of next-gen technologies.

For eight years, Model Metrics has been an evangelist for cloud computing and the cloud solution provider has been banging the mobile and social drums for years and now boasts more than 500 customers and 1,000 Salesforce deployments, including some of the largest mobile and social cloud deployments.

Salesforce said that the Model Metrics team will join its strategic services organization and focus on developing and sharing best practices with partners to accelerate social enterprise success. Salesforce added that its partners will be able to utilize Model Metrics' expertise in mobile and social design conception, user experience, business process alignment and frameworks for building employee and customer facing apps.
