Cloud MSPs Merge, Form Major Cloud Player

OutsourceIT and GoBeyondIT have joined forces to become one of the largest privately held cloud service providers and managed service providers nationwide, the two companies announced.

The merger, which combines OutsourceIT, a major regional MSP and outsourced IT SMB player founded in 2004, with GoBeyondIT, a cloud services provider with SMB and large enterprise customers, creates a single cloud and managed service provider headquartered in La Plata, Md., with support center hubs in Winston-Salem, N.C, and Baltimore.

Together, the companies' combined revenue tops $15 million. OutsourceIT co-founder and CEO Craig Guice will continue to serve as CEO, but will step down as president. Guice's co-founder partner, Mark Vilent, who was more recently vice president and CTO will take the role of president, while GoBeyondIT CEO Richard Crane will become executive vice president of corporate development and GoBeyondIT Partner David Web will take the position of executive vice president of enterprise and strategy accounts.

"This is an exciting time at OutsourceIT, we believe combining forces with GoBeyondIT will accelerate our already fast growth rate," said Guice in a statement. "When exploring this opportunity we quickly realized each company provided strength to the other company. For us (OutsourceIT), the biggest driver was the hosted desktop solution offering they (GoBeyondIT) brought to the table. We can now bundle this service with our My IT Department offering and deliver our clients the best in class cloud services support."

The combined company will operate under both names, OutsourceIT and GoBeyondIT, and will offer a suite of managed and cloud services including helpdesk, project services, virtual CIO services, NOC services, hosted desktop/VDI, hosted servers, hosted applications and VoIP telephone services. The combined company will offer SMBs fully outsourced IT support and enterprises with ad hoc services like outsourced helpdesk, professional services and hosted cloud services. The company will also build out a new channel model, which can be white labeled to enable other services providers to offer managed or cloud services.

"Cloud services are an important element in today's technology footprint, but equally important is the support mechanism needed to support the cloud services," Crane said in a statement. "By joining forces with outsourceIT, we are able to bring an end-to-end solution to the customer. We felt that we could provide better support to our clients and reach levels of scale that would be difficult had we remained only as GoBeyondIT."
