Tier 3 Offers Server Management For Cloud Deployments

Called Cloud Server Group Management, the software lets users manage virtual machines using policies, group-based permissions, policies, bulk execution actions and other actions, Tier 3 said.

Users can use Cloud Server Group Management with Tier 3 Control Portal and its API to let administrators create groups of servers with their own policies and configuration settings.

Other Cloud Server Group Management capabilities include Server Grouping, which allows administrators to group servers to create containers of systems and sub-groups arranged by role or function, project or team; Server Management, which executes server management tasks; Reporting, which creates monitoring and maintenance profiles; and Utilization and Cost Controls, which prevents uncontrolled provisioning.

Bellevue, Wash.-based Tier 3's Cloud Server Group Management product is available Tuesday and is on display at VMworld.
