independenceIT Teams Up With Verio To Extend Partner Reach
Allentown, Pa.-based independenceIT has continued ramping up its channel partner base, saying Tuesday that it has partnered up with hosting company Verio, an NTT Communications Company, to vastly expand the reach of its Desktop-as-a-Service offering to partners.
Announced at the Microsoft Hosting Summit in Bellevue, Wash., on Tuesday, the licensing agreement will connect independenceIT's Cloud Workspace Suite to Verio's partners and end users through its VerioCatalyst cloud service brokerage platform on a subscription basis.
IndependenceIT currently has more than 100 partners for its Desktop-as-a-Service software platform, ranging across the channel from hosting companies, to telecom providers, to MSPs and VARs, Seth Bostock, CEO of independenceIT said in an interview with CRN. He estimated that the partnership with Verio would expand possible partners by around 150,000 to 200,000.
"From our perspective, the benefit of the partnership with Verio is our software is now able to be delivered directly to Verio SMBs, but Verio is also able to take the solution out to their partner and channel community," Bostock said. "They have a very powerful OEM channel, telco and cable companies that resell some of their historical solutions."
The independenceIT DaaS solution will be available through the licensing agreement through Verio's channel as well as directly.
"IndependenceIT's Cloud Workspace provides a powerful and extensible as-a-service platform for delivery of applications and full-featured desktop solutions," Fred White, vice president of marketing, product management and direct channel for Verio, said in a prepared statement. "Cloud Workspace's API will allow us to deliver strategic business solutions as a service, seamlessly integrated with our advanced management system and existing service portfolio."
The news comes on the heels of independenceIT's recently announced distribution partnership with Arrow Electronics at the beginning of February. Bostock said the company has seen a lot of demand for the software platform to be licensed through other vendors or distributors, and having the options with big-name partners such as Verio and previous partner EarthLink give it the tools to drive its suite of software.
"What we're seeing is all of our growth now is for people who have made a significant investment in infrastructure, like the Verios ... of the world, and they're looking for content and capabilities on those platforms," Bostock said. "That's where we're seeing a lot of those deals."
Next up for independenceIT is an expansion into the United Kingdom and continued searches for partnerships that allow the company to enable larger hosting companies and providers to deliver to their partners and customers.
"We are growing," Bostock said. "We are growing rapidly at this point, and it's an exciting time for our company."
