More than a year after its acquisition by Wipro, Appirio's founding CEO, Chris Barbin, is moving to a position with the parent company after 12 years at the helm of the global Salesforce integrator, he said Wednesday in a blog post.
Barbin, a co-founder of the channel powerhouse incubated inside Salesforce headquarters in San Francisco, will set his sights transforming the corporate culture of the Bangalore, India-based business process services goliath, he said.
Filling his shoes starting April 1 at Appirio's Indianapolis headquarters will be Erik Duffield, currently Appirio's global general manager of CRM. Duffield has been with Appirio for five years.
Barbin will become Wipro's new Global Culture Officer, working with executives and the board of directors to advance the worker experience at Wipro.
He said he would strive to instill the workplace culture for which Appirio has repeatedly been commended.

Appirio has more than 2,000 employees and operates in 10 countries, with more on the way, Barbin wrote.
