DoiT International Inks $1.5 Billion Google Cloud Agreement

The non-binding deal illustrates the size and the potential of the companies’ mutual business and what they’ve already achieved, according to Yoav Toussia-Cohen, CEO of DoiT, a Google Cloud Premier Partner with headquarters in Tel Aviv, Israel, and Santa Clara, Calif.

Cloud consulting company DoiT International has pledged to target $1.5 billion in sales of Google Cloud infrastructure and services, including the hybrid and multi-cloud Anthos platform, in the next five years under a new agreement unveiled this week.

The non-binding deal illustrates the size and the potential of the companies’ mutual business and what they’ve already achieved, according to Yoav Toussia-Cohen, CEO of DoiT, a Google Cloud Premier Partner with headquarters in Tel Aviv, Israel and Santa Clara, Calif.

DoiT, whose public cloud portfolio includes proprietary multi-cloud optimization and governance software, previously had a two-year agreement targeting $150 million in Google Cloud sales.

“We have grown much faster than we planned, and therefore we early terminated that after a single year to sign a more long and strategic agreement with Google,” Toussia-Cohen said.

DoiT hit the approximately $200 million mark for Google Cloud sales last year and expects to double that this year.

“It‘s an exciting time for us, as we’re almost 10 years in this relationship with Google,” Toussia-Cohen told CRN. “That $1.5 billion target we’re taking to deliver Google Cloud services to our mutual customers is a big thing for us, and we think that we have shown massive growth, which is more than 350 percent during only the last three years with GCP [Google Cloud Platform].”

DoiT and Google Cloud have 1,000-plus joint customers, mostly fast-growing startup and technology companies including JFrog, RedisLabs, InfluxData, Cockroach Labs, Recurly and Sift.

“The momentum that they have really is around this differentiated service as their brand,” said Carolee Gearhart, Google Cloud’s vice president of worldwide channel sales and global SMB sales. “As a managed service provider [MSP], this agreement is really indicative of the expertise that they’re bringing to the market and the way the market is responding.”

DoiT would not disclose its annual revenue, but did say that half of its cloud consumption is attributable to its Google Cloud practice.

The company’s growth also is being fueled by a more than $100 million investment last November from Boston private equity firm Charlesbank Capital Partners to support DoiT’s geographic expansion and development of its next-generation cloud management platform (CMP) to support the “next-generation MSP that we are becoming,” according to Toussia-Cohen.

DoiT’s CMP provides support for public cloud workloads with requirements such as multi-cloud Kubernetes deployments, real-time data and analytics, and machine intelligence. Its software platform uses artificial intelligence to achieve cost reductions.

“Our CMP helps customers to analyze and to predict their cloud costs, getting recommendations into actionable items of what they should do with their cloud workloads,” Toussia-Cohen said. “We’re helping customers as well [with] 24/7 support in any technical questions that might arise and with consulting services. Our business model is providing that bundled with the price of the Google or AWS [Amazon Web Services] or public cloud costs at no extra charge to the customer, so the customer gets way more from us while paying what [it] would have paid directly to the cloud vendor.”

DoiT has tripled its employee count this year to 127 with plans to at least double that in the next 12 months. The company, which has a presence in almost 70 countries, expanded in California, New York, Texas, Australia, France, Germany, London and Paris in the last year and announced in February that it was acquiring Tel Aviv’s superQuery to help customers adopting cloud-based databases such as Google BigQuery become more productive and cost-optimized.

DoiT has earned Google Cloud specializations in data management, infrastructure, location-based services, data analytics, machine learning and cloud migration.

It was the Google Cloud Reseller Partner of the Year for North America in 2019 and for Europe, the Middle East and Africa in 2018, the Global Sales Partner of the Year in 2017 and Global Partner of the Year in 2015.

“There’s probably five companies on a global basis who have the number of [Google Cloud] specializations that DoiT has,” Gearhart said. “When we look at folks that we want to really invest in and where we’re seeing the amount of traction that we have had, it has been on the back of these really successful customers. [DoiT]’s commitment is really focusing on driving some of the adoption of Anthos and Kubernetes as a part of that modernization for customers, and … we’re seeing customers that are really realizing the benefit of this multi-cloud environment. We’re really excited about the level of this joint aggressive target that we’ve got together.”
