Who was at Oracle Cloud World 2022?
Ron Zapar, CEO of Naperville, Ill.-based Oracle partner Re-Quest, told CRN in an interview that he’s pleased with the company’s moves to accommodate customers’ multi-cloud and hybrid environments.
“We are still in a growth-oriented, thriving business around Oracle on-premises solutions,” Zapar said. “And we‘re quite candidly doing a lot of Microsoft Azure implementations including Oracle on Azure.”
Oracle used the event to unveil a new Oracle platform for partners to build cloud services, a beta for the latest version of Oracle’s converged database and a beta for MySQL HeatWave Lakehouse, among other innovations for the Austin, Texas-based database services giant.
Oracle co-founder and CTO Larry Ellison used his keynote to describe customers’ needs for an “internet of clouds” to prevent vendor lock-in. He also detailed his vision for a national health records database to help with data security and speed up health-care delivery in the U.S.
