Cisco ramped up competition in the cloud arena with its new global cloud strategy announcement last week, but HP’s Harry Gould told CRN HP is not threatened by the challenge.

’We have the largest market share, and we’re rated by our customers as the most scalable, industrial-strength cloud solution that is on the market today. So we believe that cloud and cloud management services, quite frankly, is our birthright,’ Gould said.

The Vice President of Worldwide Software Alliances said HP is ’incredibly excited’ about its new state-of-the-art cloud management software, which will help customers migrate on their ’cloud journey,’ whether they operate in a private, public, or hybrid cloud. With HP’s consumption-based managed service program, cloud partners can easily become service providers.

’We’re getting a lot of traction on it,’ Gould said.

Gould also detailed HP’s new channel plays, focused on integrated solutions in the cloud, pre-configured cloud software, backup and recovery through Autonomy, and big data.

’The market’s making a lot of noise, but at the end of the day, HP will rise to the top,’ Gould said.
