IT Predictions For 2015

CRNtv asked IT professionals to predict the major trends in the channel for the New Year. It's no surprise -- everyone is still betting big on cloud computing.
Theresa Caragol, vice president of Extreme Networks, said managed services and cloud computing will dominate the year, and there will be new opportunities for the channel.
"I think there's also a tendency towards analytics, and more and more analytics into the hardware and networking space. And that's going to make for more intelligent networks, and that is also going to provide a great opportunity for the partners to get into all of those spaces, because analytics and managed services and the cloud all go together," Caragol said.
"From a channel perspective, we're really focusing and continuing the focus that we have around our cloud offering, and how we effectively enable the channel today," said BMC Software's Heidi Sanzari.
Verizon Vice President Janet Schijns promises a boost in the "partner ecosystem," with an increased focus on the "next generation of millennial partners." Schijns told CRNtv to look for Verizon to "explode across the Internet of Things and cloud."
Jill Donohue, director of MoreDirect, said the company's focus will be on Big Data, cloud and collaboration.
Cisco Systems' Michelle Ragusa McBain said there are a lot of positive changes for Cisco. She said Cisco's partnership with Ingram Micro is very exciting.
