With the new year comes new buzz, and solution providers specializing in cloud services looked toward the future and told CRNtv what they believe will be the biggest trends in 2016.
’I see a lot more people migrating their primary infrastructure,’ said PhoenixNAP Vice President David Brimley.
’They’re moving almost everything they can to cloud infrastructure, [including] in-house data centers, their in-house infrastructure,’ he added.
iT1 Vice President Wil Herrera said he expects continued overall growth in cloud in the coming year. Specific areas he expects to grow?
’Some of my disaster recovery workloads out there, some of the backups,’ he said.
’I’m hearing some really cool stuff that’s wrapped around developments and startups and massive scale, and then trying to figure out how to apply that to customers that have been in business for 20 years that aren’t scaling like that,’ said Wally Nehls, CIO consultant at ENS Group.
TekLinks Vice President Dave Powell said, ’We continue to think applications are what’s driving everything.’
Powell said the cloud is the answer to the dilemma of how to serve customers their applications when they are no longer tied to a desktop.
