System integrators like Tom Galizia of Deloitte are optimistic about the future for Google Cloud.
’You have to figure out a way to innovate and cloud, Google Cloud in particular, is giving us an amazing, petri dish to pull the pieces together and drive digital transformation,’ said Galizia, U.S. Technology and Strategy Leader at Deloitte Consulting.
Galizia discussed the momentum of the cloud provider following the Google Next conference that ended on July 27. The sold-out show featured a number of announcements and partner initiatives that, according to Galizia, are making Google Cloud well on its way to being enterprise ready.
’They have upped their game in a number of ways,’ said Galizia. ’One is hiring talent from well-established, well-pedigreed leaders that know and understand the B2B marketspace. And then two is the serious commitment around investments that allow our clients to take advantage of some of these cutting-edge technologies and then bring them into proof of concept and then pull it into full deployment in a very rapid timeframe.’
Recently, Deloitte announced a collaboration with Google Cloud and SAP. The move aims to offer customers a triple play of value, providing SAP customers with all the capabilities required to digitally transform critical business processes and applications, while modernizing core infrastructure and managing hyperscale cloud operations.
Partnerships, like the one with Deloitte, is a priority for Google Cloud. At Google Next, CEO Diane Greene said the partner community has increased 10x in the last year, and the company hopes to continue that growth with a 100 percent commitment to partners.
’We are committing to a 100 percent partner attached to all sales deals, also a hundred percent attached to all professional engagements that we have,’ said Nina Harding, Google’s Chief of Global Partner Strategy and Programs. ’That means we are bringing partners along on site to our customers to work hand-in-hand with us to innovate with some of the strategic customers around the globe.’
