WATCH: Here’s What You Missed From IBM’s PartnerWorld At Think 2019

At the PartnerWorld kickoff for the IBM Think 2019 conference in San Francisco, Big Blue says it’s seeing the results of its revamped partner program that’s now two years in the making.

“IBM has its mojo back,” said Dorothy Copeland, VP of IBM Partner Ecosystem in North America, and her colleague Carola Cazenave, VP of IBM’s Global Partner Ecosystem, didn’t disagree: “Happy to be able to tell partners that we walk the talk.”

IBM’s ecosystem strategy focuses on business model variety. The strategy pushes to simplify the program, making it easier for IBM partners to embed new technologies into their business while welcoming new cutting-edge partners into the program. So far, it’s working, according to IBM channel chief John Teltsch. In 2018, IBM added 13,000 net new partners and the pending deal with Red Hat is expected to grow that number even more.

“From an ecosystem perspective, they are a partner-first, partner-driven company,” said Teltsch. “So, the marriage will only drive more synergy when we come together.”
