Schneider’s New Home Energy Solution Brings Together Power, Solar, Battery And Charging

Schneider launched a new home energy management solution at CES 2023 for homeowners seeking savings, comfort, and energy independence.

The new Schneider Home energy management solution includes a home battery for clean energy storage, a high-power solar inverter, a smart electrical panel, electric vehicle charger and connected electric sockets and light switches – all controlled by the easy-to-use Schneider Home app.

The Schneider Home solution orchestrates home energy by bringing together utility power, solar, back up battery and EV charging.

It offers the ability to monitor energy consumption by individual appliance, decide where to prioritize power during an outage to extend available back up power, and avoid expensive electrical service upgrades when purchasing an EV. The solution also allows homeowners to save by enrolling in utility programs and qualify for tax incentives.

In contrast to solutions which require separate apps and hardware, Schneider Electric has eliminated the complexity by automating energy production, storage, measurement and control.

Neoplants Neo P1: Palm-Size Houseplant To Contain Indoor Air Pollutants

French startup Neoplants launched a tiny plant that effectively cleans in-home air pollution.

The palm-sized baby houseplant, dubbed Neo P1, is bioengineered to capture and contain the most dangerous indoor air pollutants in homes.

After more than four years of scientific research, development, and testing, the Neo P1 is a single bioengineered plant shown to clean ambient in-home air pollution more effectively than up to thirty standard houseplants.

Neoplant said the Neo P1 represents the first critical step in the company’s mission to unlock abilities within living organisms to fight back against man-made environmental damage.

Neo P1, effectively a super-efficient air purifier, can metabolize four major indoor air pollutants and absorb certain volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

Neo P1 was designed at the genetic level to efficiently capture and recycle the most dangerous air pollutants commonly found in the home: formaldehyde, benzene, toluene, and xylene. These VOCs are constantly released into indoor ambient air from ubiquitous building materials such as furniture, household cleaning products, paint, varnishes, adhesives, upholstery, and flooring.
