Lenovo To Resell ClearCube PC Blades

Lenovo -- the China-based PC giant that acquired IBM's PC Division -- will resell ClearCube-branded PC blades and management software to midrange and enterprise customers, said Raj Shah, chief marketing officer of ClearCube, Austin, Texas.

ClearCube PC blades deliver PC applications to a small device on users' desks.

"The typical uptime for a PC is 96 [percent] to 98 percent," said Shah. "With our technology, if a PC blade has any hardware or software issue, a new blade can be swapped in within seconds from the help desk console."

About three-fourths of ClearCube's sales go through indirect sales, Shah said. He expects many of the company's solution providers will acquire the PC blades from Lenovo. "It's just another way for us to get to the channel," he said.
