Acer's New Notebooks Have Entertainment Value
With an MSRP of roughly $1,700, the top-of-the line Aspire 8930 features an 18.4-inch, wide-screen display with a Blu-ray disk drive. It also comes with Nvidia GeForce 9600M graphics, Dolby audio, a Webcam and is powered by Intel's Core 2 Duo Processor.
The Aspire 6930also runs on Intel Core 2 Duo processor technology but features a slightly smaller 16-inch HD CineCrystal LCD panel with 16:9 aspect ratio. Like the 8930, the Aspire 6930 has Dolby Home Theater surround sound, a subwoofer for premium audio, an 8X DVD drive and the vendor's Crystal Eye Webcam. The MSRP for the 6930 is $699.99.
The Aspire 5735 and the 4730 are both priced at $549.99. The 5735 has a 15.6-inch display vs. the 4730's 14.1-inch screen; both have a built-in DVD player. In addition, the 4730 offers the Crystal Eye Webcam. Both feature Intel Pentium dual-core processors and 2 GB of memory and come loaded with Windows Vista.
