Lenovo Rolls Out Business-Class All-In-One PC, Workstations, Displays

“IDC thinks all-in-one market share will double in 2010 and in the commercial sector, 10 percent of all desktops shipped will be all-in-ones,” said Bill Dominici, Lenovo’s product manager for ThinkCentre AIOs and ThinkVision monitors in North America.

The ThinkCentre M90z, with a starting price of $899 and available Thursday through Lenovo channel partners, features a 23-inch display that can be upgraded to a touchscreen for an extra $100, Dominici said. Processor options include Intel Core i3 or Core i5 chips and Morrisville, N.C.-based Lenovo also offers a choice of a hard disk drive or solid state drive. The unit is built for Web conferencing, according to the vendor, and a new feature for a Lenovo all-in-one -- an easily opened back casing -- makes upgrades and maintenance simpler for IT departments.

Lenovo’s two new commercial-class monitors are the L2330x Wide and ThinkVision L2321x Wide. The first is priced at $259 and offers a notebook connection without the need for a docking station by combining a port replicator and 21.5-inch monitor into one device. Peripherals are accessed through USB ports and the L2330x Wide is Lenovo’s first with a direct Ethernet cable plug-in.

The ThinkVision L2321x Wide monitor offers the ability to work in split-screen mode. It’s priced at $279, and like all of Lenovo’s new PC products, meets Energy Star 5.0 standards and is EPEAT Gold rated. Both new monitors will be made available in mid-July.

Two new enterprise-class workstations -- the ThinkStation C20 and ThinkStation C20x – round out Lenovo’s lineup of new PC products for businesses. The C20’s selling point is its compact size, measuring in at 46 percent smaller than Dell’s Precision T5500 and 31 percent smaller than Hewlett-Packard’s Z600, according to Lenovo. It’s priced at $1,199 and will be available later in June.

The ThinkStation C20x will only be sold through channel partners, according to Lenovo. Pricing was not immediately available for the system, which sports dual Intel Xeon CPUs and uses a Lenovo-created flat power cable to reduce interior cable clutter for significant power and cooling savings, according to Ming Xie, Levnovo’s worldwide ThinkStation product manager.
