Related Digital’s $1.2B Wyoming Data Center Will Be Anchored By CoreWeave

AI hyperscaler CoreWeave has signed on to lease 88 megawatts of the capacity once it is completed in late 2026.

Related Digital has started construction on a new $1.2 billion data center campus in the 900-acre Cheyenne Business Parkway in Wyoming.

The 115-acre project is planned to support up to 302 megawatts of IT capacity when fully built out. The first phase includes a 184,000-square-foot building on 36 acres, expected to be completed in late 2026.

“The exponential growth of data centers is providing a powerful new economic engine to states like Wyoming, who are helping lead the way in keeping America competitive in the global AI race,” said Jeff T. Blau, CEO of Related Companies, in a statement.

CoreWeave will be the first tenant under a long-term lease, occupying 88 megawatts of capacity. The company, known for providing high-performance cloud infrastructure for AI workloads, will anchor the development, Related Digital said in a press release.

“Cloud computing has become the backbone of modern technology and the foundation for the future of innovation. This project in Cheyenne reflects CoreWeave’s commitment to sharing our essential AI cloud with many more businesses, and to doing so responsibly with sustainability and long-term community investment in mind,” said CoreWeave COO Sachin Jain in a statement.

Founded by real estate giant Related Companies, Related Digital develops and invests in large-scale data center projects across North America. Related Companies has a 50-year history of working in real estate and infrastructure projects.

Related Digital currently has a $45 billion development pipeline that includes more than 5 gigawatts of planned power capacity across the United States and Canada.

Related Digital’s first North American data center project, located in Ontario, Canada, is a pre-leased 64-megawatt data center expansion that was launched in March 2025

Phase one of project is expected to generate more than $250 million in tax revenue for Wyoming and the city of Cheyenne over its first 15 years of operation. Construction is expected to create roughly 700 temporary jobs and 40 permanent positions once the site is operational.

The Cheyenne campus will use high-efficiency air-cooled chillers, and the project will require only nominal water consumption.

Construction is being managed by Clayco, with Black Hills Energy providing electric service for the site. Local economic development group Cheyenne LEADS is supporting the project, which city and state officials say aligns with Wyoming’s goals of attracting technology and infrastructure investment.

In September 2024, Related Companies and Nvidia invested $160 million in Applied Digital, a data center provider building out 2 gigawatts of capacity at its Ellendale Campus in North Dakota. Much of that capacity has been leased to CoreWeave.
