HPE Enterprise, Global Sales VP Monica Gille Is Leaving Company, Ready For ‘Next Chapter’

“After an incredible 25 years journey at HPE, the time has come for me to step into my next chapter,” wrote HPE Vice President of Sales Enterprise and Global Accounts Monica Gille in a LinkedIn post.

HPE Vice President of Sales Enterprise and Global Accounts Monica Gille, who was responsible for the top 500 accounts in North America representing more than $7 billion in HPE revenue, is leaving the company.

“After an incredible 25 years journey at HPE, the time has come for me to step into my next chapter,” wrote Gille on LinkedIn. “Reflecting on my time here, from France, [Switzerland] and Western Europe leadership roles to driving our Global & Enterprise Accounts across North America, I am immensely proud of what we have built together. Side by side with an extraordinary team and world-class partners, we delivered incredible growth, customer value creation and pushed the boundaries of enterprise hybrid cloud and AI transformation.”

CRN reached out to HPE and Gille but had not heard back at press time.

Gille, who has been in the global accounts job in North America for the last two years and nine months, started her career at HPE as a software development engineer, moving into a variety of sales jobs in Switzerland before moving to the United States to become vice president of sales strategy in North America in December 2020.

C.R. Howdyshell, CEO of Independence, Ohio-based Advizex, a Myriad360 company, called Gille a channel advocate who helped Advizex early on in its AI journey to close a $50 million AI deal.

“Without her support that deal could have gone direct,” said Howdyshell, who wished Gille success in her next chapter. “It was a complex deal. She helped us work through the detail to ensure the mutual success for both us and HPE.”

Gille’s departure comes with HPE Executive Vice President and Chief Sales Officer Phil Mottram investing significantly more in sales talent, leadership and resources in North America to help partners capture the $100 billion total addressable market (TAM).

The additional investment is aimed at addressing what Mottram called a top priority, namely helping partners drive sales growth in 5,000 underpenetrated enterprise midmarket accounts.

HPE Vice President of North America Channel and Ecosystem Jeremiah Jenson in an interview with CRN earlier this month that the “net-new” North America investment is aimed at driving more “partner-led” opportunities in enterprise and SLED.

Howdyshell said he sees HPE becoming a more sales-driven company under Mottram. “We have seen that with HPE networking and expect it to continue,” he said.

Gille thanked her team and HPE colleagues for their “relentless energy, brilliance, and dedication to push the boundaries and make the [impossible] possible.”

In addition, she thanked customers and partners for their “trust, vision, and collaboration” in navigating complex transformations together.

“While it is bittersweet to say goodbye to such a special company, I am deeply excited about what lies ahead,” Gille wrote on LinkedIn. “I will be sharing details on my next move very soon, so stay tuned!”
