National data center provider Infomart Data Centers has appointed Brian Cox as its new CEO as the company prepares for a strategic brand relaunch early next year.

Cox joins Infomart after an eight-year stint at data center competitor Cologix, where he served as COO and CFO.

"The chance to join and grow a company with a strategy focused on customer-led, next-generation hyper-scale and enterprise data center solutions is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," said Cox in a statement. "We are perfectly positioned to build on our existing platform and expand into other markets, with a goal of rapidly scaling the business to meet the unique needs of our customers."

Cox could not be reached by press time.

Infomart, a national wholesale and co-location carrier-neutral data center provider named to CRN's 2017 Data Center 100, focuses on markets in San Jose, Calif.; Hillsboro, Ore.; and Ashburn, Va.

Cox, who will also be a member of Infomart's board of directors, will lead the execution of the company's strategic brand relaunch set to occur in early 2019 as well as a new leadership structure designed to accelerate growth. Last month, Infomart hired Ty Miller as its new chief revenue officer. Miller was previously vice president of sales for data center provider Digital Realty.

Cox, who will replace interim CEO Phil Koen, is bringing over two decades of industry and operational experience to Infomart. "Brian is an accomplished leader with an innate understanding of our business and the strategy we are implementing," said Koen in a statement. "He has successfully built and grown great businesses—we are confident he is the right person to drive our success well into the future."

In March, Infomart sold three of its data center facilities and management company to investment firm IPI Data Center Partners Management.
