Westcon Group's Services Focus Continues With Intent To Acquire Intact Integrated Services

Westcon Group Thursday said it plans to acquire Intact Integrated Services, formerly a direct subsidiary of Westcon Group parent Datatec.

Bringing the U.K.-based company on board will help generate new revenue streams its channel partners through value-added services, according to a release from Tarrytown, N.Y.-based Westcon Group.

"As a leader in channel services, Intact will become a strong foundation in our Services Practice, helping partners generate new revenue streams via value-added services," stated Dolph Westerbos, CEO of Westcon Group, in the release.

Solution providers will be able to add new technology products around security, unified communications and collaboration, data center, cloud and global deployment, all of which Intact specializes in. Intact also provides white-label services project support to channel partners.

The acquisition is expected to be completed next month; financial terms of the deal were not revealed

In addition, with Intact's offices in EMEA, Asia-Pacific and the Americas, Westcon Group will further its global efforts.

Led by Executive Vice President Pedro Galatas, Intact will become "a critical piece" of Westcon Group's Global Services Solution Practice, according to the release.

The addition of Intact is just one part of the company's new direction, in which it is focusing more on cloud and managed services.

In September 2013, Westcon Group's Cisco-focused division, Comstor, entered a partnership with PeakColo to bring resellers Cisco-powered, white-labeled cloud offerings.

In December 2013, Westcon Group welcomed Westerbos, a former Dell executive, as its new CEO, replacing CEO Dean Douglas.

In an emailed statement to CRN, Westcon Group said the acquisition is part of Westerbos' move to bolster its services capabilities.

"The team developed a series of Westcon Group Solution Practices to highlight our strengths to partners. Global service is one of those practices and is now being led by former Afina CEO Pedro Galatas," according to the statement.

Intact Integrated Services could not be reached for comment.

However, in a statement, Alan Rosser, CEO of Intact Integrated Services, said, "With strong experience in the networking, security, data center and cloud space -- and one of the deepest global footprints -- Westcon is the perfect match to take our leadership even further."
