Dell Flashes A Few Adamo XPS Pics

The two new photos of the Dell Adamo XPS illustrate two things about the forthcoming notebook: First, that the Dell Adamo XPS looks very slim and, second, that its hinge is designed to double as a stand.

The hinge on the Adamo XPS appears to be offset, a unique design choice that is not without tangible merit. From the photos released today it appears that placing the hinge in an offset position will allow the notebook to be propped up at what is presumably an ergonomic angle.

Dell since September has been letting out a slow trickle of information about the Adamo XPS to the public. The computer maker launched a Web site on 09/09/09 first introducing the Adamo XPS. The date, according to Dell, was chosen because it matches the thickness of the notebook at 9.99mm.

The Adamo XPS showed up for real last week when Dell briefly showed the notebook to an assembled group of reporters at a media event. Executives didn't talk about the notebook, instead just flashing it at the assembled crowd briefly before disappearing.

More information about the Adamo XPS is scarce, with Dell playing its cards close to the vest. There is no word yet on the internal specs of the hardware nor information on pricing. There's also no dirt on a release date for the Adamo XPS, although a holiday rollout wouldn't be shocking.
