T-Mobile Reveals iPhone Pricing For U.K. Customers

Perhaps the most notable aspect of the pricing plans is the cap on wireless data at 1GB a month. For this access, which comes with 500 texts and unlimited talk time (which is actually 3,000 minutes), it is £60 per month, or roughly $90.

Stateside, AT&T, the current exclusive wireless provider for the iPhone, has also recently removed the unlimited data plan and now requires subscribers to pay for additional Internet use, much to the dismay of frequent Web surfers.

The least expensive iPhone price plans starts at £25 monthly (about $38), which includes 100 talk minutes and 100 texts, and 500 MB of data. There are four additional price plans in between the £25 and £60 monthly fees, each including various talk minutes and texting ranges, but the wireless data for all plans is either 500, 750 or 1 GB.

Of course, pricing for the actual handset varies depending on the plan customers opt for. For £259 (about $392), customers can purchase a 16GB iPhone, or fork over £349 (about $528) for 16GB more. However, some customers might prefer the free iPhone 8GB option -- if they’re willing to spend at least £35 per month or £60 per month for a 16GB version.

T-Mobile also offers pay-as-you-go options for different versions of the iPhone: The 8GB costs £399 (about $604) plus £10 to add minutes, while the 16GB will set subscribers back £499 (about $755) plus £10 to fill minutes. This route provides subscribers with free texts for life, 12 months’ worth of free Internet, and the lowest international calling rates with the free international pass, according to the T-Mobile site.

And just like the AT&T two-year contact condition in the United States, T-Mobile U.K. requires the same commitment. The actual availability of the iPhone via T-Mobile is still unknown at this time.
