HP Shifts Focus To Mobile Products, Ultrabooks

In an interview with CRN TV, Mike Parrottino, vice president of U.S. channel sales for HP's Personal Systems Group, said HP's mobile device lineup is the strongest he's seen, thanks to the introduction of Ultrabooks.

"I think our current products that we have are the best product lineup we've ever had in my quarter-century here at Hewlett-Packard," Parrottino said. "Our product roadmap is phenomenal."

He added that HP's key product series currently is the Ultrabook; the company has been on the front lines of the Ultrabook movement since Intel first unveiled the concept. Earlier this year at its Global Partner Conference, HP showed off the Folio 13 and Envy 14 Ultrabooks, as well as its second-generation Windows 7 tablet, the Slate 2.

The company introduced a number of new business-focused Ultrabook models, such as the EliteBook Folio 9470m, last month at HP's Global Influencers Summit in Shanghai, China.
