Tango Networks Scoops Up Simetric Telecom To 'Revolutionize Enterprise Mobility'

Mobile communications provider Tango Networks is creating an "unmatched portfolio" of enterprise communication solutions with the recent acquisition of U.K.-based Simetric Telecom, said Tango Networks CEO Doug Bartek.

Frisco, Texas-based Tango Networks' portfolio of unified communications and workforce mobility solutions will be combined with Simetric's mobile services and telecommunications offerings. The combination will create an integrated mobile voice, text and data offering with enterprise telephony and applications, aimed at giving customers a global communications fabric covering all employees in any location.

Terms of the deal, which was announced on Tuesday, were not disclosed.

Tango Networks enables enterprises to extend their applications to any mobile device. The company's new Kinetic Cloud is a mobile service offering that includes unified communications, mobile recording compliance, automated application mobile integration and enterprise text messaging. Founded in 2009, Simetric operates a telecom network that blends fixed communications and mobile services to unify telecommunications.

Tango said the two companies will supply enterprises, hosted communications providers and telecom resellers a portfolio of communications services that will "revolutionize enterprise mobility."

Gavin Sweet, managing director of Simetric, said in a statement that joining forces will raise the company's service offerings and market reach to "an entirely new level."

"We have always delivered innovative services that create a truly unified telecommunications experience for customers. Now with Tango Networks, we are positioned in the vanguard of the new enterprise mobility revolution," Sweet said.

Bartek reassured Simetric's channel community that business will continue as usual. "We're committed to providing Simetric's community of partners and resellers with the same reliable innovative services and high level of support that they have received from Simetric over the years," Bartek said in a statement.

Simetric is now operating as a subsidiary of Tango Networks.
