Intel's Newest Drone Can Stalk People

Intel demonstrated its new Yuneec Typhoon H Drone at CES 2016, which incorporates an impressive, if creepy feature: "Follow Me" mode.

With "Follow Me," the drone literally will stalk its connected subject. That’s made possible through Intel’s RealSense technology. On the CES show floor, Intel demonstrated how the drone could connect to a person’s bicycle helmet and follow a rider with a camera.

’You’re out biking, and you’re able to go ahead and use the drone to be able to go ahead to take selfies and videos of you as you’re going down the road,’ said one Intel representative at the booth.

The drone also features the ability to avoid objects through RealSense, so it won’t hit a tree if the rider takes a path through the woods.

’It will make a determination as to how much space it has,’ the demonstrator said.

With "Follow Me," the drone also can quickly change directions depending on where its subject has moved.

Intel CEO Brian Krzanich said the drone will be made available early this year at a price point of less than $2,000.
