’Here, what we’re looking at, is that people go home to their families [after] doing dangerous work: building, construction, mining, oil and gas, renewable energy,’ said CEO Peter Raymond. ’We live in a world where you can push a button and get anything delivered to your doorstep, but the person delivering it may be injured or killed on the way there. So we see that as a big issue and that’s what we’re looking to address.’

’In our VR world, you can put someone in an environment they’ve never been in and see how they actually respond,’ he said of SafeScan.

CRNtv had the opportunity to participate in a hands-on demonstration of the virtual reality technology, which simulates moving construction materials on a beam at skyscraping heights.

’If you’re 20 stories up on the World Trade Center and you’re afraid of heights, we want to know that while you’re safely on the ground and in a controlled environment,’ Raymond said.

Human Condition Safety's other areas of innovation include autonomous vehicles and smart cities and buildings.
