The UC Upper Hand: Mobile Applications And Work Habits

The bring-your-own-device (BYOD) and enterprise mobility market is estimated to be worth over $73 billion by 2021 at a compound annual growth rate of more than 15 percent since 2016, according to research analytics firm Markets and Markets. This rapid adoption of mobile applications in the workplace is causing some companies to struggle on how to conduct business.

“The biggest challenge for partners is to really start to understand the market. The market’s shifting, and I think our partners need to start understanding what those needs are going to be,” says Mark Sher, vice president of unified communications, product and marketing at Intermedia. “Millennials are highly mobile, highly collaborative people. Partners need to understand what they’re going to need so they can start advising their customers about the communication solution. They’re going to have to work well with these types of users.”

Solution providers can understand their needs by selling a communication solution that provides an integrated app serving multiple business use cases.

Intermedia’s unified communications platform comes with a fully integrated mobile solution. This allows customers to make business calls, hold video conferences, share files, send instant messages and more through one application on their mobile devices. Sher says, “As people transition in and out of the office, we want to make sure their communication services go with them.”

Intermedia makes it simple for partners to sell their UCaaS solution by teaching them how the service works, creating quotes and assisting with billing and taxation. By partnering with vendors who understand how the market needs are changing and providing solutions that meet those needs, solution providers are empowered to succeed through every step of the customer lifecycle.
