Wireless ISP Launches Reseller Program
The company, which until recently primarily served the Utah area, just kicked off a nationwide rollout of its wireless Internet services. With the completion of the rollout, Broadband Central expects to have more than 1,000 miles of Wi-Fi coverage in the Western United States.
Broadband Central initially will recruit VARs in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah and Washington.
Partners must buy at least one Blue Zone--a one-mile-diameter exclusive coverage area in which Broadband Central has set up a Wi-Fi cell site--to join the program. Subscribers within the area receive a transmitter for their home that connects to the cell site.
Blue Zone promises subscribers wireless connections with less traffic and, in turn, higher speeds comparable to ISDN, according to the company. Blue Zone pricing is not yet available.
Solution providers will receive a commission for each Blue Zone they sell. Subscribers can buy Internet access packages starting at $19.95 per month for synchronous connectivity at 128 Kbps.
