Avaya, HP Take Aim At SMBs With Bundled IP Telephony Solutions

The bundles will combine Avaya's IP Office software with ProLiant ML310, ML330 and DL320 servers from HP, Palo Alto, Calif., and will target businesses with between two and 256 users. The package will also include installation and maintenance services from Avaya Global Services and Avaya BusinessPartners.

"Avaya and HP plan to simplify the process of moving to IP telephony for smaller firms by helping them minimize risks and control costs," said Dave Johnson, group vice president of small and medium business solutions at Avaya, Basking Ridge, N.J., in a statement.

Solution providers that have joined the Avaya Accelerated Sales Authorized Program will be able to sell the bundles.

IP Office can function as an IP or circuit-switched PBX and can support integrated contact centers and a host of other communications applications. Avaya has certified and now recommends ProLiant servers as the preferred platform for running IP Office, the companies said.
