AlterPoint Releases New Product Suite

Officials said the product is available immediately. AlterPoint launched its channel program four months ago and is currently recruiting solution providers.

The new product suite comprises the DeviceAuthority Audit Module, DeviceAuthority Update Module and DeviceAuthority Server. According to Jeffrey Ait, president and CEO of the Austin, Texas-based company, new technologies in the suite--such as the Integrated Network Environment (INE) and the AlterPoint AutoScriptor--enable network managers to make changes in realtime.

"The DeviceAuthority suite is developed around customer demand for a comprehensive solution that solves the problem of managing multivendor device configurations across enterprise networks," Ait said. "We believe its broad functionality and ability to deliver immediate ROI are unparalleled in the market."

Ait explained that with the help of the DeviceAuthority Audit Module, the suite provides visibility and reporting into network device details. Through the DeviceAuthority Update Module, the new product enables efficient, reliable and secure implementation of changes throughout the enterprise. Finally, he added, the DeviceAuthority Server provides a secure, centralized repository and user control.

Beyond these features, AlterPoint's INE integrates tools, applications and interfaces commonly used by network engineers into a single, centralized workspace. The AutoScriptor technology provides an automated script generator that records device interactions and automatically generates executable code.

AlterPoint officials said the DeviceAuthority Suite retails at $19,950 for 100 devices. Channel partners also can sell some components individually such as the DeviceAuthority Audit Module at $5,000 for 50 devices, and the DeviceAuthority Update Module at $7,500 for 50 devices.
