Sprint, Novatel, Commerciant Introduce Wireless Payment Processing Solution

The all-in-one solution includes a MobileScape M2 handheld device, proprietary signature capture capability, an integrated printer, encryption security and Web-enabled business application interfaces.

Commerciant developed the interfaces, called POSware, and provides realtime online transaction data and signature retrieval via its MobileScape electronic receipt center.

The MobileScape M2 handheld is integrated with Novatel Wireless' Expedite C201 CDMA2000 1x wireless embedded modem, a device that's designed to operate on Sprint's PCS network.

The solution is aimed at retail outlets, commercial and residential contractors, delivery companies and transportation providers, high-tech maintenance and repair technicians, and food-service organizations.
