HP Wastes No Time Launching New Product Developed By Consera

The software, developed by Consera and dubbed "HP OpenView Service Delivery Designer," enables companies to build graphical models that represent business services mapped to underlying IT components. It will be available for sale through the HP OpenView sales channel immediately.

"[This product] provides the next step in creating a simple and integrated environment to manage IT processes against changes in business demands," said Nora Denzel, senior vice president of HP's Adaptive Enterprise. "This technology is key to furthering [our] Adaptive Enterprise strategy."

Denzel noted that the intuitive new software allows users to customize and create workflows to automate IT management tasks. She said the program results in improved quality and speed, enabling IT organizations to adapt to changing business needs while supporting specific infrastructures.

The product also adds automation capabilities to the HP OpenView software portfolio for unified management of the complete IT enterprise environment, she said.

Palo Alto, Calif.-based HP's bid for Novadigm, another company that specializes in automation software, was still subject to approval and completion. Denzel and other HP executives said last week they expected the Novadigm deal to be completed by the end of the month.
