Santullo Leaves Enterasys

Michael Rivers will replace Santullo effective immediately, Enterasys said in a statement. Santullo is leaving the Andover, Mass.-based company to pursue other opportunities, according to the statement.

Enterasys executives were not immediately available for comment.

Rivers, who will report to President Mark Aslett, previously served as vice president of worldwide sales and business development for security switch vendor Inkra Networks, with prior experience at Nortel Networks, Bay Networks, Synoptics and IBM.

Santullo emceed the Enterasys 2004 Americas Partner Conference that wrapped up on Friday and gave a keynote address at the event, which served as a launch pad for the vendor's reinvigorated channel efforts. Throughout the conference, he continually assured partners that the vendor is committed to building strong partnerships with solution providers.

"I'm here to learn," Santullo told conference attendees, noting that one of his main goals at the event was to listen to partner feedback on how to improve the vendor's channel relationships.

Santullo's departure comes just five months after he joined the networking firm in October 2003.

One solution provider that attended the conference last week questioned why Santullo held such a prominent role at the partner event if he was due to leave, but said high-level executive changes at vendors are not a cause for concern.

"I have to look at what really affects us," said Amir Sohrabi, executive vice president at Managed Solutions Planning Xperts (MSPX), Arlington, Va. "We see senior management twice a year, so really it comes down to the local level."

Sohrabi said MSPX's local and regional contacts at Enterasys have remained stable throughout the vendor's numerous senior management changes.

It is unclear what impact Santullo's departure will have on the planned rollout of Enterasys' revamped partner program, scheduled to debut in the next few weeks. Executives last week said the new program will offer higher rewards and incentives for partners that make the most investment in Enterasys.
