Opsware Files To Issue $150M In New Shares

Opsware representatives declined to elaborate on what the Sunnyvale, Calif.-based company plans to do with the additional funds raised.

However, sources familiar with the company's plans said the option to sell as much as $150 million in new stock would give Opsware something of a second funding round, and that additional funding could very likely fuel new acquisitions by the company.

As recently as February, Opsware purchased Tangram Enterprise Solutions, a provider of IT asset management and security software.
