Cisco Secure AI Factory with Nvidia is now capable handling more sophisticated workloads so enterprises can deploy agentic AI securely and at scale, the two companies announced on Thursday.

Cisco AI PODs, the AI infrastructure building blocks of the Secure AI Factory offering, are now available with Vast InsightEngine, a core capability of Vast Data AI OS. These AI PODs will offer a fully integrated solution using the Nvidia AI Data Platform reference design to transform raw data into AI-ready datasets, Cisco said in a statement.

Cisco Systems and Nvidia first introduced their joint “AI factory” architecture that the two companies said was built with security at the heart of the offering in March. The mission of Cisco Secure AI Factory with Nvidia was to help enterprises build and secure data centers to develop and run AI workloads, “dramatically” simplifying the process for these businesses, the two companies said in the spring.

With the latest validated offering with Vast Data, Cisco Secure AI Factory with Nvidia is expanding to accommodate new use cases, including the acceleration of retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines with faster data extraction and retrieval. Cisco said that the new capability ensures AI agents have secure access to the information they need in near-real time.

“Moving beyond chatbots to agents that can help solve true business challenges is revolutionary, but only if enterprises can effectively leverage the right data at the right times. Cisco, Nvidia and Vast are working together to give customers a simple path to unlocking the value of their data,” said Jeremy Foster, senior vice president and general manager of Cisco Compute in a statement. “We are designing the architecture for how the enterprise will build the next generation of AI factories.”

Cisco is continuing to build on its AI Pods with its technology partners. Within the AI PODs, the combined Cisco UCS server portfolio with Nvidia RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Server Edition GPUs offer the performance for next-generation AI applications, the company said. Through this architecture, customers have visibility into their environments with Splunk and can apply safety and security guardrails to every token using Cisco AI Defense.

Cisco AI PODs with Vast InsightEngine are now orderable from Cisco. The AI POD designed for RAG acceleration with Nvidia and Vast is the first in a series of AI services PODs built to support the growing number of use cases in the enterprise, the company said.
